Just before the New Year, Julia and I got to finish off another epic year with a Terminal BASE jumping course in one of our favorite places, Espírito Santo, Brazil. Luckily, we were graced with near perfect weather while our group was in the mountains, racking up 20 jumps in our 7 day course.
Steady progress was made by all who attended.... and the final results were, the whole group transformed into tracking maniacs.
Of course, there might have been some wing suits involved too!
The terrain around Espírito Santo is so dramatic; dark granite walls sticking out of green, reds and browns under a cloud filled blue sky makes this part of Brazil feel like paradise.
And for our groups, it's a source of endless smiles and hard-charging KAVU days!
Of course.... Rio was around to help with packing techniques.
After the course, we headed south for some family time in Rio De Janeiro over the Christmas holidays. I have to admit, I still finds it strange to be in shorts and a t-shirt while "Jingle Bells" is playing.... but I'm slowly getting used to it;-)
Finally, we headed back home to Skydive Elsinore on Christmas Day, just in time to enjoy the rest of our California winter at the drop zone.
