Winter is my favorite time of year in Moab, and with our house building journey finally coming to an end, we are getting back to more normal adventures again!
My buddy Ammon climbed the super iconic Hindu Tower and kindly let us know the ropes were still on it. About 10 years ago, I climbed it with Ammon and then freed the route before jumping off the top, so it brought back some great memories to head out there with Ian and Cajun for a revisit.
I forgot how cold Onion Creek can be in the morning, and of course we wanted to get out there bright and early while the winds were still calm. It was a balmy 16 degrees when we started up the hill, but luckily, we had brought several jackets for Cajun to wear while she waited for us to do the quick mission.
Ian and I jugged up the ropes to the top of Hindu—with the summit as spectacular and small as I remembered, if a little more freezing! We savored the amazing views and the beautiful morning light, geared up and flew back down--the jump is also one of the best around if you ask me. A very fun way to start off winter in the desert!
