Change has pretty much been the only constant during the last 2 years. Since my wife Julia and I started BASE with the Bob’s, we’ve learned a lot about ourselves as instructors, partners, and as general earthlings.
Through the last couple of tumultuous COVID-filled years, with all of the uncertainty and doubt, we have found happiness in taking our students and courses to new heights.
Throughout the year, we were grateful to teach six Perrine bridge courses, 4 Brazil terminal courses, and a Moab first timers course.
We got to know Twin Falls, Idaho better than we ever thought we would …....ever.
The Perrine has become a home away from home, allowing us to meet constantly new jumpers, and really get to know Southern Idaho from season to season. We're already looking forward to enjoying that place much, much more in the coming 2022 season.
And, going from one environment, "town and a bridge", to the red and yellow cliffs of the southwestern desert allows a contrast which helps to keep our perspectives fresh.
Moab is simply one of the most special places for me, without a doubt.
In Moab, seeing qualified jumpers learn and grow in a place that means so much to us makes each course more than just an opportunity to pass on knowledge and technique.
Our Brazil terminal course has also been coming along nicely.
Teaching terminal BASE jumping is a whole other beast, especially in a place like Espírito Santo.
The students and environment keep us on our toes, but we have a blast doing it!
When Julia and I started down our path as instructors, we both wanted to focus on making well-rounded BASE jumpers with open minds. And, we're super happy to feel like 2021 has been a step in the right direction.
Without a doubt, we're looking forward to what 2022 has in store for us. And..... we will be welcoming a Baby Bob into the family in March...... so life is about to get even busier;-))
