This adventure started off in Milan, Italy with two friends I've had the pleasure of jumping with before: Justin and Patrick. We went to Monte Brento first, a well known and huge cliff that's great for warm-up jumps. One of the best things about Monte Brento is the nearby town, Riva del Garda. This is one of the most beautiful lakeside towns in the world with delicious gelato, cappuccinos, and amazing food everywhere you turn. A dip in the lake is always a memorable part of any trip here.
After a few days in Italy, we hit the road for Switzerland. We timed the drive nicely and hit the only bad weather of the trip... which turned into a crazy deluge of hail.
Halfway through the drive we decided to stretch our legs and jump off a beautiful damn with a wonderful grass landing area below. Somehow, there was absolutely no wind at the damn! After the crazy storm we were experiencing, we thought there would be no way it would have been perfect jumping conditions!
KAVU Days!
Next stop Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland!
Lauterbrunnen is a classic favorite, due to its insane beauty and the convenience of trams and trains to get you to the top of the cliffs. The boys were doing an amazing job getting their wingsuit‘s started and flying well. So, we decided to hike up to the "Mushroom exit" on the right side of the Eiger's North face. This is one of the most iconic base exits in the world due to its location, and the fact that it is a 400 foot tower seperated from the face of the mountain that you have to slide across a rope traverse to get to. The jump was followed by lunch at one of the most picturesque‘s locations with a view of the mountain. That jump, in particular, was a super exciting highlight of our trip, for sure.
For the grand finale of our trip, we drove to Walenstadt, Switzerland, where the largest jump we'd fly from was located. At a whopping 5300 total vertical feet, there would've been no better way to finish off the trip, than to enjoy this massive jump... over a beautiful lake... with perfect weather...
A few times!
After many action packed days, we packed everything up and drove back to Milan to catch a flight the next day. But, not without getting one last delicious pizza before we left Italy.
Another amazing trip in the books!
