Espírito Santo '24

Brazil is a vast land that occupies nearly half of South America. It has everything from famous beaches to very tall mountains and national parks for days. Jeff Shapiro and I went to a small town in the state of Espírito Santo called Baixu Guandu five years ago to participate in a Pan American Paragliding Competition.
We were in awe of the 4000-foot monolithic black rocks created by erosion over the last millions of years!

I returned this year to lead a group of 15 US Pilots with five Paragliding Guides to fly to one of the most surreal places on the planet to take flight.
Arriving in the capital of the state, Vitoria, we spent a glorious two days recovering from jet travel, and enjoying delicious sea food on the beach before we headed inland to a remote area known for towering, dark, monolithic rock formations left from 100,000 thousand years of erosion. These granite "teeth" rage into the sky for thousands of feet, and are surrounded by the greenest fields as far as one can see.

It is in a word…stunning!
This part of the world has been discovered by several air-obsessed groups, and just a week earlier, the legendary KAVU ambassador, Scotty Bob, was guiding a group of wingsuiters off the exact same terrain that we would fly over!
