Traveling to Spain is impressionable enough. The Atlantic Ocean on one side and the Mediterranean on the other, separated by the dramatic and raw Pyrenees mountains...... Spain and its culture is one of the most beautiful places I've been lucky enough to visit.

Solpelana Playa, just outside of the town of Getxo, just a short drive from the city of Bilbao, became an idylic start and finish to my most recent trip while competing in the X-Pyr Race.

When we arrived, we hooked up with our good friend and KAVU Lifestyler, Wiso.

Wiso, and his good friend Txema are two of the best tandem paraglider pilots in Spain, as well as being amazing human beings! They run Parapente Bizkaia and both are.....KAVU to the core!!

Wiso invited us to a restaurant/bar/hang-out that he started with partners and family members called, Fangaloka Style. Not only is it a short walk from some of the best surfing in the area.... and an even shorter walk to one of the most beautiful, coastal paragliding launches I've ever flown..... but the "vibe" before or after adventure at Fangaloca is off the hook!

The place is hoppin!

Every afternoon and evening, people of all ages show up to sit in the warm summer air and with paragliders soaring overhead, sip on refreshing drinks and eat some of the most amazing food you can imagine!

I'm not sure there is a better burger anywhere in the world!

Reggae adding to the "relaxed" vibe through the speakers, there's a half-pipe for kids to skate, chairs, pillows and blankets out on the grass and the warm air blowing in from the ocean which, is only a stone's throw away!
