With the temps in the 90s where I live in Bozeman Montana, some friends and I headed to Wyoming for higher elevations, lower temps and some climbing in the mountains. The Wind River Range is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been with more rock than I could explore in a lifetime!
We were lucky enough to get to spend 5 full KAVU days in the Cirque of the Towers.
Camp, being that we planned on making it home for several days, needed to have the right combo of proper amenities.
Luckily for us, we found green grass, flowers and most importantly, a good bouldering rock for a rest day.
Trying to inspire some European flair into our climbing;-)
After some big days exploring the wild and dramatic rock features around camp, we took turns playing Chess- to keep the mind fresh. It always feels good to slow down and just enjoy being outside in such an epic place!
No epics were had during this trip and many big rocks were climbed..... including 2 of the "50 classic climbs"- Wolf's Head Traverse and NE face of Pingora !!
For some of the group, our trip into the Cirque was the end of their time off, but for Duncan, Rachel, Michael and me, the party kept going as we headed down to Vedauwoo.
We had never been there before and wanted to try our hand at some offwidths. We were also grateful to stay much closer to the ground than in the Cirque!

Hanging out at camp- playing guitar, doing crosswords, and chasing squirrels away from the food became our "in between climbing routine".
But, after any big mission, we were Very grateful to be eating delicious Mexican food at the 24/7 Mexican restaurant in Laramie.
You think the people in the restaurant could tell that we hadn't showered for 10 days???
Great climbs, great friends, and so many new memories!
Now...... back to Montana where we have some unfinished business in the Beartooths..
