My name comes from the book “Heidi” about the girl who lives in the mountains with her grandfather. I was born in Tooele, UT and have 9 brothers and sisters.
3 weeks ago, I was adopted by Maureen and Neil and now, they are my parents.
My first day leaving home we visited the Great Salt Lake at sunset. I had never seen such a big open space before!
I walked around and smelled things and the sky looked like it was on fire.
....but I already made my first friend. He is a skunk. We do everything together. He is much bigger then me but I am not afraid. Sometimes he even sleeps in my crate.
My Dad tells me we are going to go on lots of adventures when I am older. I can’t wait!
We even go to look at airplanes sometimes. I’ve never flown in one but Dad says soon. If it’s anything like driving in the truck I think I will like it. The sound of the truck makes me fall right to sleep.
...I went to a place where people were floating in the air! They were hanging from colorful blankets. I was very confused since I had never seen people off the ground before. I wonder if my ears will allow me to fly?
My Mom takes me on lots of walks and I have a cool KAVU leash. We’ve already walked in the desert. I liked the red color of the rocks.
Dad is helping me with my training. He says since I’m going to be big when I grow up so, it’s important I am well behaved. I like the training because when I follow the commands, I get a treat and they taste really good.
I spent the night in a hotel. I’m not allowed on the couch or bed at home, but since it was a hotel they said I could sleep on the bed. It was really soft and comfortable. I think I could get used to it.
Mom and Dad even take me to work with them. We get so much attention! Dad thinks they wanted to talk with him about work, but I know they just wanted to pet me because I am so cute.
Right now my ears are still floppy, but one day they will stand up straight and tall. I better learn how to fly before then!
On our latest adventure, we went for a walk with people that were sliding on sticks. I made a friend with a red dog who looked like a little fox. He was faster then me and I liked to chase him. It made me very tired.
I was nervous leaving my brothers and sisters, but after living with Neil and Maureen for a few weeks I think I am going to like it here. Next time you see a picture of me, I will be much bigger.
I’m excited to be part of the KAVU family and hope to meet many of you in person one day.
Ruff Ruff!!
