The idea was for Lizz and I, along with Pat Walker, to take a break from the winter in the Northern Hemisphere and travel to where the Indian Ocean and the Atlantic meet in a dramatic way, right on the southern tip of the African continent. Word on the streets is that there is some serious beauty, and some wild flying to be done around Cape Town and, it's a place I'd never been!
So...... February KAVU Days in South Africa, it was!
A necessary ingredient for KAVU Days.........
Good friends!!
of course....... epic hikes into the mountains with those friends.
Cape Town is full of extremes
....and, our long hikes were rewarded with views I'll remember forever,
followed by the likely "fast way down"
Seeing new places is much more fun If you are base jumping, It gives you a reason to visit places you probably wouldn't go.
One of the mountains that we jumped was called the Witteberg.
We also had the pleasure of meeting some of the locals.
Whether hiking and flying, walking through historical parts of Cape Town...... rain or shine
