One for the memory books!

Timmy Morris has been my KAVU brother and..... since May 2019, my Onewhweel soul brother.

Since 2015, I've absolutely loved riding my Onewheel, on and off-road but, as is so often with passions..... meeting lots of enthusiasts along the way, most who are KAVU at heart, has been one of the best parts of the whole experience

....…but no one like my buddy, Timmy Morris.

I'll often get Mid-night Onewheel texts, weekly board updates, videos, upgrade links or even the classic, "check out this ride!"

I finally had a bro that thought about Onewheels as much as I did. Ha ha ha!!

.....And the rest is history!!!

Why ration passion?

It is so wonderful to have someone to share the feeling of riding a Onewheel with..... including the carnage, euphoria and obsession. My wife can only take so much "Onewheel talk" which, is why it's been amazing to find soul brothers and sisters out there to share my stoke with!

Passion is contagious

For about 6 months, Timmy and I have talked about riding on the (San Juan) Island together… so, we FINALLY made it happen and, what a DREAM it was!

I love riding with Timmy because, we both ride full throttle. It's as if the pavement or ground is water or soft.... well that is how I imagine it;-)

So..as my 2 year old, Rayno says.. “Put the Metal to the Pedal” baby and lets RIDE!!!!

When the stars finally aligned, it was time to hop a ferry and head up to San Juan Island to find that ticket to ride!! Timmy lives there during the spring and summer months, working as a Sea Kayak guide and since last May, a Onewheel guide as well. Ha ha ha..... he has shredded every part of that island and now, it was finally time for him to “show me his world!”

I took the 5PM Ferry and made it to San Juan just in time for dinner. Timmy had been working on a veggie lasagna recipe since 2PM! Holy s#!$, that was an amazing Lasagna! Little did I know, we were even more alike!

…It turns out Lasagna is His favorite food as well! What a good start to the trip.

For our first ride, we headed down the west-side to rip some trails in Lime Kiln State park.

They are walking trails so, we had to ride the Onewheels there at night because.....

.....it is not exactly “legal”.

KAVU days are thirsty work!

The next day...... we went for a late start.

....... In my opinion, it's the best way to start an awesome KAVU day, after an awesome KAVU day;-)

For our late-afternoon rip, we headed south to ride.... basically the whole south end of the island in it's entirety!

We had our chargers, and beys in the back packs, just in case we needed a quick charge. Timmy’s plan was to find a fire station at the very end of the south side and charge up for the rip back!

That way, our fun would be Unlimited!

The plan worked perfectly!

We only had two falls each, I think....... which is definitely a win-win :)

Go Anywhere!

I love that with my Onewheel, I'm not limited to the pavement. Ripping at high speed on clean asphalt is rad but, the technical challenge and, just being in the middle of nature makes trail riding one of my favorite things to do!

Surfing the single track always gets us laughing out loud!!

It's also incredible how much terrain and, in our case, coast line we were able to see on a "single charge"! Cruising around on road and trail, our KAVU day was in FULL EFFECT!!!

Noggin buckets, check!

Speaking of full effect..... Helmets are a must. Gotta keep the Operating Systems turning at full capacity! Ha ha ha......

On our way back to Timmy's, the day washed over me like a rush of good vibes. Getting to surf the Onewheel gives me so much but, doing something that creates so much stoke..... with a super good friend..... That's KAVU. It was the end of a long day but, one ending is the beginning of yet another

KAVU Day!

What's your next adventure??

KAVU is an aviation acronym for “clear above visibility unlimited,” when there isn’t a cloud in the sky and you can see to the horizon. That limitless feeling is our guiding philosophy. It means treating every day like it’s special, and then getting out and doing whatever brings on the perma-grin. That’s KAVU.
