Every year, a group of skydivers make their way from all over the world..... to one of Mexico’s most beautiful beach towns.
The Skydive Puerto Escondido "New Year’s Skydive Boogie" annually creates the perfect opportunity to make some incredible memories and for us, has become a trip I look forward to all year.
From the amazing authentic fresh food..... to the burning sunsets on the beach, I soon realized the skydiving is just a bonus. On trips like this, it's the people, the perspectives, the culture and the warm air on our faces in the middle of the northern hemisphere's winter.
Don't get me wrong.... we love winter too! But, KAVU days are where you find them and they're definitely here!
You know you have arrived somewhere special when..... as the door opens on the plane, you are greeted by stairs leading to warm, fresh smelling air and palm trees. Adding to the vibe of the area includes having fun while zipping around on scooters and relaxing, breezy, outdoor patio meals........
....Oh, and don’t forget the incredibly scenic skydives...... with beach landings!
"Airing it out" with good friends over the coast creates a mind blowing contrast.
Blue water and waves on one side, and all of the relaxing culture, food and potential adventures on the other. Skydiving here is unique in that.... you get to fly over the ocean and an endless horizon.
The result.... laughing at the bottom..... every single time!
Although we were still very conscious of wearing masks and social distancing when at all possible, flying, feeling the sun and just getting outside to do what we love brought back some normalcy that was so refreshing and rejuvenating.
All of the beaches offer great swimming, snorkeling, surfing and restaurants! There were too many places we wanted to hangout and not enough time. By the end of the week we were there, we were definitely not ready to leave....... but I guess a great place always leaves you wanting more!
A huge thanks to everyone that made this week one for the books!
