HERE WE ARE, CALIFORNIA BABY!
Alright... so we made it to California.
After 2 days driving through Washington and Oregon, pit-stopping to taste the dreamy red dirt, we finally made it to the golden state.
First things first… Coffee.
In the morning, before we passed through San Francisco, we decided to take a short detour to see if we could wrap our arms around some old-growth trees.
Our passage through San Francisco was no easy task. We were lucky enough to hit rush hour traffic during a huge wind & rain storm (again, in a 4 wheeled sailboat), with an accidental detour... courtesy of google maps and the confusing freeway signage.
Onward to Santa Cruz!
This is what we came here for.
We’ve been wanting to ride in Santa Cruz for a long time. It's a place that has so much character, and for a place that is normally known for its surfing, I was surprised to see how "big" mountain biking really is here.
We managed to find an area where we could shuttle for as many laps as possible. We probably crushed close to 7+ laps per day there, on average.
It was too good to be true.
Sinking our tires into some fresh dirt-jumps and berms, for us.... this place was like a match made in heaven.
There’s no better way to cool down after a day of shuttle-laps than hanging with your homies on the beach to watch another epic sunset.
Oh, and when your bud pours a beer for ya!
