We set off from the trailhead at 4am in hopes to see the sunrise at Colchuck. Fortunately for us, we made it just in time!
Probably the best trail snack there is..... Oreos with peanut butter.
BOOM!
Party on the taste buds.
Side-note: The KAVU Packwood is a perfect snack holder.
Aasgard pass ascends nearly 2000 feet in just three-quarters of a mile...one word--
OOOFTA
The colorful rocks, shimmering snow, jagged peaks, and crispy lakes that lie before you make it seem like you’re in another world.....
even on another planet.
After our quick snack set in, the legs were feeling re-charged and ready to rock.
All down hill from here!
Only 12 miles to go;-)
So many stops to re-fill our tanks along the way. Cold water in the mountains always quenches and brings the happy mountain morale back to the top line.
Who needs an Evian bottle?
It was crazy how vibrant the trees looked.......
Reminded me of - Dr. Suess' "Whoville is that you?"
Getting through the Snow Lakes really pushed us mentally....
But oh.... does it make that pretzel and beer in Leavenworth taste that much better!
Hardly a better way for us to finish off an extremely KAVU day!!
