Around four years ago my KAVU team mate, Hartman Rector and our close friend and jumping partner, Pat Walker hit me up with the amazing opportunity to go to China to take part in a wing suit even over a place called Dashanbao.
Little did I know the places that this rad "Wings For Love" team would take me.
For these past 4 years, we have continued exploring different regions of China, bringing parachutes and wing suits to people and places that have never seen anything like the way we are lucky enough to fly.
The most recent destination we were able to visit was in late April, and brought us to a town east of Chongqing, in the Karst limestone landscape overlooking the Wujiang River.
We were honored to get to spend KAVU days performing a wing suit skydiving demonstration for the opening of Tukanzhen, a new village in the area.
Together with Pat, Hartman, Liz Freeman, Julia Botelho, and Val Sobol, we performed numerous jumps out of a helicopter to celebrate the towns opening with crowds of curious and smiling locals.
Following the demo, we were taken to Xianvshann National Park, near Wulong.
A tight 300 meter Karst canyon allowed for some amazing BASE jumping and canopy rides through caves. We couldn't help but to laugh out loud while flying through this super unique feature in this other-worldly place. It was by far one of the most spectacular places for slider down jumping I've ever been!
I honestly can't say a Big enough thanks to Xukai and the whole Wings for Love team! These amazing opportunities, year after year, to experience new culture and to share our passion of flying around the world has made some of my most memorable KAVU days!!
